I\u00a0will not scout bars, coffee shops, marriage portals, social media websites, etc.\u00a0 with any hope of chance encounters with you.\u00a0 I\u2019m just going to write this blog post and hope it finds its way to you.\u00a0 Something like a message in a bottle.<\/p>\n

Err\u2026 Hi.<\/p>\n

This is a little awkward.\u00a0 I\u2019m not good at initiating a conversation but I hope this medium eases things.\u00a0 Heaven knows I would have been completely tongue-tied or stuttering like a fool if you were sitting across me, looking as gorgeous as I\u2019m sure you do with that irresistible air of nonchalance and confidence.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ve been thinking about you lately\u2026 like for the past decade or so.\u00a0 I\u2019m sorry I gave your rightful place to others but they all claimed to be you.\u00a0 You didn\u2019t make things any easier by never reaching out either.\u00a0 I know I could have done the same but, hey, maybe we aren\u2019t even acquainted yet.\u00a0 And maybe we are acquainted but are too blind to see that we are soulmates.<\/p>\n

I\u2019ll be honest with you.\u00a0 I don\u2019t believe much in the concept of \u201csomeone somewhere is made for you.\u201d\u00a0 It just seems a bit silly that the cosmos decided to put everything on hold and said, \u201cHey!\u00a0 Let\u2019s create people in pairs and have them spend frickin years just looking for each other.\u201d\u00a0 Well, actually it sounds more evil than silly so, yeah, it\u2019s quite a possibility that we were created in pairs.<\/p>\n

I must apologize for taking so long to find my way to you.\u00a0 Not really, though, I\u2019m sure you\u2019re having a swinging time with whoever you are dating right now.\u00a0 Because if you are my soul mate, you must be nice enough to have your pick.\u00a0 Unless of course, that ol\u2019 \u201copposites attract\u201d theory happens to be true.\u00a0 In which case you are probably making love to your fifth helping of dinner, with the sauce dribbling down your chin \u2014 If this describes you, I\u2019m glad you decided to stay away this long.\u00a0 (Please continue to do the same!)<\/p>\n

It is imperative for you to know that I\u2019m a terrible judge of character.\u00a0 So if you are going to be super gallant and chivalrous and treat me really well, I\u2019m going to walk out on you.\u00a0 However, if you can manage to act like a complete schmuck who won\u2019t give me the time of the day, trust me, I\u2019ll chase you around \u2019til I hear Gloria Gaynor singing \u201cI will survive\u201d again.<\/p>\n

I\u2019m only kidding.\u00a0 I\u2019m quite certain that when we do meet, you will be nice enough to tell me that you\u2019ve been looking for me too and are tired of all those impostors who promised you the world but walked out on you.\u00a0 (I know you are the one who walked out on them because, after all, we need to have some things in common.)<\/p>\n

Things are going great for me right now.\u00a0 I\u2019m 30 years old, have a promising career (don\u2019t ask me what it\u2019s promising, though), a few close friends, and a very supportive family.\u00a0 I don\u2019t really need you.\u00a0 And I hope you don\u2019t need me, either.\u00a0 It would be awful if we got together because of something based on a feeling as pitiful as need.<\/p>\n

I will not scout bars, coffee shops, marriage portals, social media websites, etc.\u00a0 with any hope of chance encounters with you.\u00a0 The kind of men I\u2019ve met so far at these places are not soulmate-material at all.\u00a0 I\u2019m just going to write this blog post and absolve myself of all responsibility.\u00a0 Something like a message in a bottle.\u00a0 And I\u2019ll hope it finds its way to you.\u00a0 Doesn\u2019t have to be now.\u00a0 Take your time.\u00a0 I\u2019m in no rush and I\u2019ve got enough work and distractions to keep myself busy \u2019til you come by.<\/p>\n

To make things easier and to make sure that this letter is not answered to by the wrong person (after all, you are one of a kind), I\u2019m going to describe you so you know this for you:<\/p>\n
