Updates to the Jodi365 matching algorithm
We paused our matching engine recently, as we made some improvements to the underlying algorithm. Here's what we did and why.
Our multi-dimensional Partner Preference Index™ is designed to bring out what a Jodi365 user truly wants in a partner. We factor in not only what a user's partner preferences are, but also how important the various possible matching criteria are to the user.

Better yet, we recognize that for each possible criterion, some options may be more preferable than others. That is, some options may be 'Ideal', some others may be 'Not ideal, but still acceptable', while other options may be out of question.

We also provide users the option of checking a box to ensure that one's partner preferences for a criterion (for example, age or marital status) is strictly met. However, previously, we provided this option only if the criterion mattered 'A lot' or 'Greatly!'.
With the recent refinements, the "ensure a strict match" option is provided even if the criterion matters only 'A little' or 'Somewhat'.
28 February 2012 update:
The "ensure a strict match" filter is no longer selected by default for any criterion. A user must explicitly enable these filters.
